WHAT IS IN A NAME?
When most people think about scrapbooks the words paper, pages and photos come to mind. When I think about scrapbooks I think of memories of friends and family. Ladybugs by the Lake defines my family and friends.
The Letter L - L is an important part of our family tree. Known in my group of friends as Triple L, for my 3 initials, I am not the only L in my family. My little sister was also Triple L (before she married). All of my sisters, father and grandfather were named with L's. We are not a family of change. My mother's side is not L but everyone on that side is J. Still unable to change both sisters married men with the same first name, it makes things easier for my father.
The Lake - Looking through years of family photos I noticed something - the 1st day of school, graduation or any major event was shot in 1 of 2 places. The indoor photos were taken in front of my parents' grandfather clock. The outdoor ones were taken across the street by the small neighborhood lake; most people would call it a pond. This lake is a spectacular view my parents have enjoyed the many years they have been married. From their kitchen window or front porch this lake, with the ducks in the summer and ice skaters in the winter, is a feature every family member and visitor has enjoyed.
The Ladybug - If your summer family roadtrips in the early 80's included talking to truckers on the CB and you of heard a group of giggly girls with the handle the Ladybug, you were probably talking to us. Ladybugs were one of the many creatures my grandmother passed her love of to me. The love of Ladybugs followed me to my college sorority where our mascot was the Ladybug. Still close with many college friends you can occasionally spot the Ladybugs roadtriping for a weekend escape.
